Hennepin Tech MarCom Team Wins Regional Awards
Brooklyn Park, October 2, 2024 – Hennepin Technical College’s Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) has earned top honors at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) Awards, taking home four accolades, including three regional Medallion Awards and the prestigious NCMPR Rising Star Award.
The team’s creativity and strategic communication were highlighted with a gold Medallion Award for their year-long Communications Success Story, which covered the implementation of a $1M Federal grant to enhance Hennepin Tech’s Law Enforcement, Peace Officer, and Public Safety Program. They also received two bronze awards: one in the Video Short (Single) category for the piece titled A Spotlight into the Future of Information Technology, and the other for their design and promotion of the 2024 Plant Sale in the Special Event or Fundraising Campaign category.
These awards are part of the NCMPR’s Medallion Awards, a competition that recognizes excellence in design and communication at community and technical colleges within each of NCMPR’s seven districts.
In addition to these team achievements, Marissa Dibba, Hennepin Tech’s Web & Digital Media Manager, received the NCMPR District 5 Rising Star Award. This honor is given to newcomers who have demonstrated exceptional talent and creativity in marketing and PR, showcasing potential for a promising career in the field. As a district winner, Marissa is now in the running for the national Rising Star Award.
